Daily Rewind - WPT Venice Live Stream, New WPT Hostess, PokerStars Pro Leaves

In today's Daily Rewind we preview PartyPoker's WPT Venice live stream, see who the new WPT hostess is and find out which pro is leaving PokerStars.

WPT Venice Final Streaming Live

Thanks to the proliferation of live streaming technology, it’s now possible to watch some of the world’s top players compete in some of the best tournaments in the world. By giving the poker public a direct link to the final table of some fantastic events, the interest in the game has increased dramatically.

Indeed, no one in the industry has embraced this popular trend more than PartyPoker and their axis company, The World Poker Tour. Starting this Sunday at 14:30 CET, PartyPoker.it will be streaming the final table of the WPT event in Venice.

English speaking poker fans will be able to tune in to the action via WPT’s site and be regaled by the animated tones of Jesse May. For those with an Italian mother tongue, the stream will also be available with Italian commentary via PartyPoker.it’s blog

According to Party Poker's blog, the field is currently poised at 15 players and due to reach a final 6 today, tomorrow’s stream promises to be a viewing spectacle. Leading the way at the moment is Germany’s Marvin Rettenmaier, just ahead of Michele Caroli and Alex Dovzhneko. Their positions at the top are far from safe though, as the likes of Arnaud Mattern, Roberto Romanello and Steve O’Dwyer are still in the hunt.

Maternity Leave Paves Way for Pereyra

While fans of the World Poker Tour will be sad to see the temporary hiatus of Kimberly Lansing while she prepares to have a baby, they need not worry as her replacement is every bit as tasty.

Marianela Pereyra will be the new face of the show and in true WPT tradition she’s a face people are unlikely to get bored of in a hurry.

Having already established her poker credentials on Poker After Dark, Marianela displayed an endless enthusiasm, quick wit and extensive poker knowledge during her interview according to Adam Pliska, WPT’s President.

Marianela will first join the team for the WPT Venice event which runs between February 6th and 11th, 2012.

Hachem Parts with PokerStars

He’s been one of the site’s longest serving pros, but following a recent press statement, 2005 WSOP Main Event winner Joe Hachem will be leaving the PokerStars stable. Having signed for the site soon after his landmark win, Joe quickly became one of the company’s most high profile sponsored players.

During his tenure with the company he proved his WSOP win was no fluke by coming agonisingly close to a second bracelet in 2006, before going on to the WPT Five Diamond Classic and winning $2.2 million.

Commenting on Joe’s time with PokerStars, Head of Corporate Communications, Eric Hollreiser, said: “Joe has been a terrific endorser for PokerStars over the years. We thank him for all he’s done for our brand and for poker.”

Joe confirmed the story via Twitter, stating: “Statement was released today about me leaving PokerStars, its true, it was time. Had a good time with them but very excited. About the future. Stay tuned for some news around Aussie Millions time #lifeisgood. #fb”

"PhounderAA" hauled the biggest score yesterday as he captured $83,651 in profits over the course of 715 hands. His profitable day at the tables put him at the head of the high stakes pack along with "1Il|1Il|1il|" and Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond who bagged $80,459 and $63,166 respectively.

Not faring so well at the virtual felt was "Zypherin" who dropped $135,368. Also taking a bankroll hit just before the Christmas period was "Sirens" ($78,346), "Jeans89" ($55,686) and "long90110" ($55,686).

WAG of the Day

She's the girlfriend of dating Victory Poker's Dan Bilzerian and we think she's an absolute stunner. So, for our latest poker WAG, we present, Miss Jessica Lynn Hinton.
